We arrived at about 16.00 after a 10 hour motor through the Alderney race . I had a toothache and got to the dentist for a filling one hour later at £100!!! Peter took us to a great restaurant called the quayside which was great and at a great price …..highly recommended. We hope to see Darren Mcue who is the son of my late friend Malcolm, who lives here. The marina cost £100 for 3 days! Our sailing budget needs review.
The marina is fine and the entry ok with pilotage. There is a tidal gate of 3hrs either side of high water. We met Darren and baby Oscar. Tried liberation beer and it is recommended. What was not good, was the cafe at the marina! Uncooked sausages and just warm breakfast. The hash brown was still cold in the middle. Anything that you did not want was not substituted and although the menu said 2 sausages, u get one! Just ordinairy. The bacon was good.
The around island tour for a day at £20 is a good introduction to the island
